TO ME, IT IS HUGE.
WILD HORSES, EVEN HANGING AND HAVING FUN WITH A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, COULD NOT KEEP ME AWAY. I HAVE ADMIRED THIS GUYS TALENT FOR YEARS AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR HIM SPEAK ABOUT HIS WORK WAS TOO MUCH. If you don’t know this guy or of his work, I implore you to rent this film (pictured).
I LOVE AFF!
Been doing it for many years.
I Am blown away how accessible things are and everyone is at this festival. UNPRETENTIOUS. If you have something to say, folks will listen. Besides the film fest this is a screenwriters conference, so i guess we are all lovers of the soul of great film, the screenplay. The direction IS THE MIND OF FILM, the actors are the heart, but the screenplay is the frame, the all important soul and motivation of any film. The writing is king at this festival.
Edward Burns is a film maker that hit home with me with his “Brothers McMullen.” One of my favorite films. It just feels so real. The storyline of “Barry” is one that I knew well. I found out that this was a self produced creation. Not a silver spoon story, but a story of working hard to make things happen. Using all the tricks to bring his words to life like; using his family’s house for locations, friends as actors, even becoming an actor himself. It alwaze feels amazing to me when I see other folks making their dreams happen. I find such inspiration in the process of living out dreams and making them reality and never giving up.
