The Incubators: Must Hatch–The debut release of the album includes groove-based root rock. The band is a nest collective of players and writers fronted by sing-songwriter Katie Freeman and Chris Chappell, supported by bassist Max Ramey. The mix of female and male vocals is a key aspect to their sound giving the album spontaneity. “Dead River Blues” and “Soul Ride” feature multiple instrumental sections while other tracks focus on Americana with a vocal twist. Additionally, the  album is packed with performances by other Bay Area talents.

Melissa Crabtree: The Day I Fell in the Water–Folk singer-songwriter uses the intersection of her interests of both music and nature to conjure songs that play like a Woody Guthrie track. She comments, “My songs are a record of my life which flow through me while I am living outside in the wilderness and on the water.” She’s shared the stage with Joan Osborne, Ani Difranco, Patty Larkin and David Wilcox. She delivers poignant stories with a husky alto with the twang of a guitar nearby. “Spirit Mountain” and “Daisies Talk” are great examples of her gift of storytelling.

fluoxetineSleepless Nights Water Rights-Root-rocks influences on this album touch on the question of “Where is the true lust for music?” They dive into this thought with songs such as, “Strange Disease” and “There’s No End.” Long-time Austin front man, Ryan Morris, provides the epic roots-influenced rock while Ronny Michael Groover Hass, Amy Hawthorne, Landis Armstrong and John Bush round out the group. They can usually be found playing the Austin rock scene or in a bar in a town nearby.

Champion Sisters: Unfit to be Tied–The trio from Houston use a tongue-in-cheek approach to their songwriting. With a strong musical family history, the trio also invited songs onto the album written by Kevin Brandt and Bobby Terry out of Nashville. The album takes the trio back to their country roots blending a bit of old style, class country with a modern sound. They mix sweet voiced , deep southern vocals with soft harmonies.
